San Francisco Bay to Breakers: 16 May 2004

The 93rd running of the San Francisco Bay to Breakers foot race.
Between 60,000 and 80,000 people turned out for this year's 7.46 mile event (12 Kilometers).
The sky was clear and the weather was in the low 70's. It was a beautiful day for a San Francisco "happening."

North Berkeley BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station at 6:13 a.m. Waiting for the arrival of the San Francisco train	Getting on the train at 6:25 a.m.	Heading towards San Francisco; we will exit at the Embarcadero station

She is getting a little fidgety	Kerry for President contingent. There were numerous Kerry supporters in the race. I only saw one Bush supporter... but, then, remember this is San Francisco	Some gals from Mendocino County, California

Beautiful!	This, um, uh, woman was putting on his/her wig. He/she wanted to have a picture with me in it	His wig is now on, come to think of it, I could probably also use some additional hair on my head!

The race has started! After waiting for 20 minutes after the starter's gun, I finally crossed the starting line	They are having fun	Mother and daughter

Heading south on Howard Street	The Arnold Schwanzenegger "Gropenator 2004" machine	The "Gropenator" sees a potential gropie

Got her! She doesn't seem unhappy or shocked by the big grope	The "Gropenator" is now moving towards this beautiful nurse. She is in line for a grope. That lucky machine!	Nice costumes

The Elvis Presley contigent is rolling a beer keg along the route. I must have seen 50 or more rolling beer kegs along the race course	Oh my! These women are, uh, well endowed	"Weapons of Mass Consumption"

The cart she is rolling has a sign offering literature on nudism	These San Francisco boys are strutting their stuff and doing a little dance for the runners	Up, up up

Peace? Yes, that is an appropriate term to use in this picture	Hayes Street is packed with runners	The top of the hill is in view

This view made the climb worthwhile	"The Ya Ya Vagina Runners Club." They are from Phoenix, Arizona, and they are having a good time in San Francisco	Hayes Street takes a short, sharp descent

She is watching the runners and dancing to the music	We turn onto Divisadero Street for one short block	Spectators watching the race and having a good time

We are now on Fell Street, and are heading into Golden Gate Park. She has lovely purple hair	Right! The goal of this race/happening/event is to finish at the beach on the Pacific Ocean	Clothing?! Who needs clothing when you're in love?

Removed: 15 September 2005	We are now in Golden Gate Park. We have run 4 miles and have 3.5 more miles to go before we reach the Pacific Ocean	Nice buns

I meet up with The Ya Ya Vagina Runners Club again	The beautiful Conservatory of Flowers	Three young girls heading towards the Pacific Ocean

Wow, those are great looking ballons	She is 78 years old; she is staying young by exercising	She is advertising two different nudist colony web sites, one on each of her buns

She isn't advertising anything on the frontal view	A tattooed women	Nice dress

The 7 mile mark. Only 1/2 mile to go to the finish of the race	Yes! The Pacific Ocean comes into view	The Pacific Ocean with the Marin Headlands in the distance
